After careful consideration, AAFS is pleased to announce an extension for the 2021 Annual Meeting abstract deadline until September 1, 2020. This extension is given in consideration of the worldwide COVID 19 pandemic and the possible impacts caused by shutdowns and closures since March. The extension applies to all submission types including, abstracts for oral and poster scientific sessions, breakfast sessions, luncheon seminars, proposals for workshops and special sessions, and evening session presentations. Young Forensic Scientists Forum poster proposals will still maintain the November 1 deadline. A considerable amount of work will need to be completed in a shorter time frame by the volunteer program committee and staff, so the September 1 deadline will be firm and submissions received on or after September 2 will not be considered on time for the program. For those of you thinking about seeking submissions from experts who may be unfamiliar with our deadlines and requirements, please make sure everyone is aware of the 2020 submission deadline extension. September 1 will be the most crucial deadline for a wonderful opportunity for authors and experts to present February 15-20, 2021 in Houston, TX.
