I am delighted to announce that the Journal of Forensic Sciences (JFS) has appointed two new Associate Editors (AE), Brooke W. Kammrath, PhD, and Douglas S. Lacey, MS.
Dr. Brooke Kammrath is a forensic science professor at the University of New Haven and an assistant director of the Henry C. Lee Institute of Forensic Science. She has assumed the AE responsibilities previously held by Dr. Nicholas D.K. Petraco, who recently stepped down from his JFS AE role for trace evidence.
Mr. Douglas Lacey is owner and forensic audio/video/image examiner at BEK TEK LLC. He has assumed the AE responsibilities previously held by Mr. David Baker, who recently stepped down from his JFS AE role for digital & multimedia sciences.
My thanks and gratitude are extended to Dr. Petraco and Mr. Baker, who have been dedicated and enthusiastic members of the JFS leadership team in their JFS AE roles and were a tremendous help in making the new JFS structure the successful model it is today. They also performed the JFS AE duties for trace evidence and digital & multimedia science manuscript submissions with professionalism and integrity. Mr. Baker and Dr. Petraco will continue to serve as JFS Editorial Board Members.
AEs were incorporated into the JFS process in 2017 and have played an integral role in the evolution of JFS. It is their dedication and effort that make JFS one of the leading forensic science journals in the world. We are excited to have Dr. Kammrath and Mr. Lacey join the JFS leadership team and to their future contributions.
Please join me in congratulating Dr. Kammrath and Mr. Lacey on their new appointments, as well as thanking Dr. Petraco and Mr. Baker for their vital contributions during their tenure as JFS AE.
Thank you for your continued support of JFS and its initiatives. For questions, please contact JFS Managing Editor Brenda Peat at email@example.com.
