Pursuant to Section 22.214.171.124. of the Policy and Procedure Manual of the AAFS, the decision of the Board of Directors in Ethics Case No. 2014-5 (Herbert MacDonell) is hereby published.
On September 17, 2015, the AAFS Board of Directors unanimously ratified the decision of the Ethics Committee that found Herbert MacDonell violated Article II, Section 1(a) of the Academy’s Code of Ethics and Conduct based on the conduct admitted in his guilty pleas to two counts of aggravated harassment, second degree, in the State of New York relating to two juveniles with whom he had contact through teaching a forensic science course.
The Board of Directors unanimously voted to expel Herbert MacDonell from the membership of the Academy. Herbert MacDonell has not appealed the action of the Board of Directors and the decision of the Board is final.
