Are you interested in becoming more involved in the leadership and future of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFS)? Have you wanted to participate in important AAFS committees, but you weren’t sure how?

AAFS is pleased to announce another exciting enhancement to the membership portal. In an effort to reach a broader representation of the AAFS membership and encourage more members to become active in AAFS Committee participation, the AAFS Staff and Website Team have incorporated a new mechanism for all AAFS members to express their interest in committee service.

Please log in to the new AAFS member portal in the upper right-hand corner of the Academy website ( After logging in, choose “Committee Interest” from the blue panel on the left-hand site of your screen. You will be led to a list of all Academy-Wide Committees that you can choose from to send your notification of interest. You can also select “Section-level Committee” to notify the leadership of your section of your interest in serving.

Head over to the new AAFS Member Portal to see this new feature and help us help you become a voice in the future of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences.
