The DOJ today announced two new projects relating to forensic science. The projects will develop guidelines for examiner testimony and reports and will implement a testimony-monitoring program to ensure compliance with the uniform language standards. The DOJ press release announcing the projects is here.
Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein also announced the appointment of Ted Hunt to serve as the Department’s Senior Advisor on Forensics. Ted has been a member of the AAFS since 2006 and is a Fellow of the Jurisprudence Section.
Congratulations to Ted, and we look forward to working with the DOJ to advance science and its application to the justice system.
