The Organization of Scientific Area Communities (OSAC), housed at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), recently invited OSAC professional association representatives to share information on OSAC events with their members. The invitation highlighted the opportunity to comment on inclusion of two forensic related standards, published by ASTM International, into the OSAC Registry. The standards are: ASTM E1610-18, Standard Guide for Forensic Paint Analysis and Comparison, and ASTM E2937-18, Standard Guide for Using Infrared Spectroscopy in Forensic Paint Examinations.

AAFS and ASB members interested in commenting can do so through the link given below. The OSAC Registry comment period for these documents is open until May 9th. By accessing the Registry, AAFS and ASB members can read the ASTM standards and submit comments regarding use of the standards in the Registry.
