FEPAC 2022 Accreditation Decisions

At a recent meeting held February 19, 2022, the Forensic Science Education Program Accreditation Commission (FEPAC) concluded its review of programs seeking FEPAC accreditation or reaccreditation during the 2021 cycle.

The accreditation decisions are:

  • Alfred State – SUNY College of Technology, Alfred, NY
    Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science Technology
    Full accreditation for a term of five (5) years.
  • Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, OH
    Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science
    Full accreditation for a term of five (5) years.
  • Cedar Crest College, Allentown, PA
    Master of Science in Forensic Science
    Full accreditation for a term of five (5) years.
  • Eastern Kentucky University, Richmond, KY
    Bachelor if Science in Digital Forensics and Cyber Security
    Full accreditation for a term of five (5) years.
  • Loyola University, Chicago, IL
    Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science
    Probationary Accreditation for a period not to exceed one (1) year.
  • Middle Tennessee State University, Murlfreesboro, TN
    Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science
    Full accreditation for a term of five (5) years.
  • University of Central Oklahoma, Edmond, OK
    Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science – Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Digital Forensics, and Crime Scene Investigations Concentrations
    Full accreditation for a term of five (5) years.
  • Towson University, Towson, MD
    Bachelor of Science in Forensic Chemistry
    Master of Science in Forensic Science
    Full accreditation for a term of five (5) years.
  • Utah Valley University
    Bachelor of Science, Forensic Investigation Concentration
    Full accreditation for a term of five (5) years.
    Bachelor of Science, Forensic Laboratory Concentration
    Conditional Accreditation for a period not to exceed one (1) year.
  • Virginia Commonwealth University
    Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science
    Master of Science in Forensic Science
    Full accreditation for a term of five (5) years.

Congratulations to these programs successfully complying with FEPAC accreditation standards.

It should be noted that the FEPAC Commission finalized and implemented standards in 2021 for an undergraduate Crime Scene Investigations concentration. Two pilot programs underwent the FEPAC in-depth review and successfully achieved full five-year accreditation status.  A special acknowledgement to those pilot programs, University of Central Oklahoma and its Crime Scene Investigations concentration and Utah Valley University and its Forensic Investigation concentration.
