At a recent meeting, three new Commissioners were selected to serve on the AAFS Forensic Science Education Programs Accreditation Commission (FEPAC). Pursuant to FEPAC Policies & Procedures, the newly elected FEPAC officers meet all requirements outlined. Please refer to FEPAC Policies & Procedures, Policy 2 Accreditation Commission for details.
The positions filled were one Commissioner Academic, one Commissioner Practitioner, and the FEPAC Public Member. Amy Brodeur, Fellow in the Criminalistics Section, Boston University School of Medicine will be replacing Murrell Godfrey, Member in the Toxicology Section, University of Mississippi as Commissioner Academic. Joseph Levi White will be replacing Patrick Eller as Commissioner Practitioner. Both are Fellows in the Digital & Multimedia Sciences Section. Karl Gauby will be replacing Lynne Van Wormer as FEPAC Public Member. All, except Dr. Gauby, will officially join FEPAC on February 12, 2023. Dr. Gauby will be joining the Commission as Public Member immediately.
Dr. Godfrey and Mr. Eller have served FEPAC as FEPAC Commissioners and have contributed greatly to the advancement of the FEPAC Mission and Goals, overseeing the accreditation process of numerous forensic science programs as well as the development and maintenance of FEPAC standards and its accreditation mission. It is difficult to say goodbye to these extraordinary Commissioners, but their time with FEPAC has not come to an end as they will be called upon to continue serving in various capacities.
Ms. Brodeur and Dr. White have served FEPAC as On-Site Evaluators, have regularly attended the FEPAC training sessions, and have knowledge of the FEPAC Standards and Procedures. Dr. Gauby, who joins us as the FEPAC Public Member, has worked in accreditation, education management, and legal counsel for over 30 years. His full range of responsibilities, challenges, and oversight will contribution to the advancement of FEPAC accreditation and its mission. They are a very welcome additions to the FEPAC team.
