All, this is probably one of our most important Presidential spotlights serving to inform the Academy membership of activities and resources of benefit to you. Carl McClary joins me in sharing the wonderful and exciting news of welcoming new AAFS Executive Director—Donna Grogan.
Beginning the latter portion of last year, the ad hoc committee tasked with finding a replacement for our executive director Anne Warren, began a nationwide search with the help of an esteemed executive search firm. That search has been completed and after interviewing many qualified candidates, the committee is pleased to announce our choice.
On June 15, we will welcome Donna Grogan as the Academy’s new Executive Director! Donna comes to us from the District of Columbia and brings with her prodigious experience in organizational leadership, management, leadership training and development, and notable successes in fundraising programs. Through her accomplishments in non-profit executive positions, she has increased the global footprint of the healthcare foundations she worked with for over 20 years prior to joining the Academy. A high-energy, goal-oriented manager, Donna is eager to hit the ground running and put her experience to work.
Donna will join us on June 15 remotely for a period of time until the current situation with the coronavirus allows her to execute a home search and long-distance move. Until then, Kimberly Wrasse will serve as Interim Executive Director of the Academy. We know that you will find Donna as capable and engaging as the search committee and Board of Directors do and that you will help support her as she makes the transition from the East coast.
As we bid Anne a fond farewell with our best wishes, we look forward to introducing Donna to you, our members, and showing her the significant work we all perform through the Academy and our advocacy programs.
