AAFS Standards Board (ASB) Documents for review

The ASB recently recirculated four documents that may be of interest:

Comments will be accepted on the following documents until January 18, 2021:

  • ASB Standard 098, Standard for Mass Spectral Data Acceptance in Forensic Toxicology, First Edition
  • ASB Standard 113, Standard for Identification Criteria in Forensic Toxicology, First Edition

Comments will be accepted on the following documents until February 1, 2021:

  • ASB Standard 119, Standard for the Analytical Scope and Sensitivity of Forensic Toxicological Testing of Blood in Medicolegal Death Investigations, First Edition
  • ASB Standard 121, Standard for the Analytical Scope and Sensitivity of Forensic Toxicological Testing of Urine in Drug-Facilitated Crime Investigations, First Edition

You may recall that these documents were first released for review and comment early in 2020. Based on the comments received, the documents were modified.

This recirculation period is your chance to review the changes to the documents and provide further comments on those changes. Please note that per ASB procedures, in this recirculation phase of the process, new comments will only be considered for portions of the document that were changed since the last draft versions were released.
