Now that we are into the new year of 2020, it’s only a few short weeks until we are all together in February in warm, sunny Anaheim, CA (February 17–22)!
With that in mind, please think about your hotel accommodations if you haven’t already; as always, the rooms closest to the convention center are going quickly. If you would like to book via the AAFS website, the link is https://www.aafs.org/home-page/meetings/2020-aafs-annual-scientific-meeting/accommodations/.
Also, when you are registering for the meeting and exciting, informative workshops, make sure you also check the box for the Criminalistics Luncheon—it’s a very affordable $10. You can have an enjoyable conversation with friends, then participate in our business meeting.
Last, the Academy leadership let us know that there may be openings on various Academy-wide committees in the next year or so. Check out the list at https://www.aafs.org/about-aafs/aafs-commitees/ and if anything may be of interest to you to be part of in the future, let any of the current section officers know (Patrick Buzzini, Sandra Sachs, Jason Linder, or myself) and we’ll try to connect you to the correct people. Each committee will have its own list of qualifications.
