The Criminalistics Section is seeking a volunteer to serve as a liaison between our Academy section and the DNA Consensus Body (CB) of the AAFS Standards Board (ASB). We are looking for individuals who will actively provide input in the development of standards documents, represent the interests of the Criminalistics Section membership, and relay updates to the Criminalistics Chair on a regular basis.
This is expected to be a two-year commitment with the option to renew. It is anticipated that the CB will meet at least once per month (telephonically). In between meetings, the appointed liaison will be asked to read, edit, and respond to all proposed standard documents.
Criminalistics Section members interested in participating must: (1) be a Member, Fellow, Retired Member, or Retired Fellow; (2) have significant knowledge regarding forensic DNA analysis issues; and (3) be enthusiastic about, and dedicated to, the process of standards development.
If you are interested in being considered for this liaison position representing the Criminalistics Section, please submit your CV along with an email confirming your ability to commit the necessary time for a two-year period and summarizing your qualifications to Kristy Kadash at firstname.lastname@example.org no later than November 22, 2019.
