To put it mildly, it has been a strange year. It seems like it has been at least a decade since we gathered in Anaheim where we nervously joked a little bit about the Coronavirus and all tried to avoid the attendees that came down with the flu! Little did we know that social distancing, face masks, and Zoom would be phrases we would use daily.

I know everyone is wondering what the plan is for AAFS 2021. Rest assured AAFS leadership and staff are working diligently to provide an educational and informative virtual conference.

So, while we don’t know exactly what it will look like, we do know that there is still time to submit those abstracts! The deadline is September 30, 2020.

The Program Committee is thankful for everyone who volunteered to review abstracts. Due to the extension of the deadline, there is an extremely short turnaround time for abstract review. Now is the time to mark off a few hours on your calendar in early October and set them aside for this very important task.

Now is also the time to finalize your applications for membership or promotion. Please take a moment to review the requirements and get those applications submitted. Remember, everyone who applies for promotion will be entered into a drawing to receive a complimentary registration for the 74th annual meeting in Seattle, WA. Applications are due October 1, so do not delay!
