The NBA has announced it will move its 2017 All-Star Game from Charlotte, NC.  New Orleans has been proposed as an alternative, with the game day proposed as Sunday, February 19, 2017.  The move to New Orleans has not been confirmed at this time.

Please be aware that AAFS has contracted a set block of rooms for attendees at the 69th Annual Scientific Meeting. The annual meeting will be held February 13-18, 2017, at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans. The contracted block of rooms is protected and will be available for online reservations next month (September 2016) for meeting attendees. The hotel is not sold out at this time for meeting attendees. Attendees calling the hotel to reserve a non-contracted hotel room may be told there are no rooms available; however, this does not apply to the AAFS attendee block of rooms.

AAFS only has a limited number of rooms available in its block for stays on Saturday, February 19, 2017, and the obtainability of rooms after Saturday, February 18, will be at the prevailing market rates. Please carefully consider and book your travel dates accordingly.

The AAFS annual meeting group rate at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans is $207 per night single/double. A government rate is not available within the AAFS attendee block at the Hyatt Regency in New Orleans. This benefit is, unfortunately, not always guaranteed each year. Accommodations information, as well as the online web link to make reservations for the AAFS 69th Annual Scientific Meeting, will be released in September.  Please come back soon to reserve your room. We look forward to seeing you at the AAFS Annual Scientific Meeting in February! If you have any questions, please contact Sondra Doolittle at sdoolittle@aafs.org.
