The 70th Annual Scientific Meeting in Seattle, WA, is just around the corner! If you missed the deadline for the Academy’s presentations, the YFSF is still accepting applications from students and young professionals to participate in either the Bring Your Own Posters (BYOP) or Bring Your Own Slides (BYOS) sessions.

The BYOP and BYOS sessions provide young forensic scientists with the opportunity to present their research and casework studies in front of their peers and the Academy. The BYOS session will be held Wednesday, February 21, from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. The BYOP session will be held Thursday, February 22, from 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. The number of posters selected will be determined by the space allotted, whereas four or five speakers are chosen for the podium presentations. Each session is usually one hour (i.e., a speaker will have approximately 10 – 15 minutes in BYOS).

The submission deadline to present at either the BYOP or BYOS session is December 1. All submissions should include a one page, detailed abstract and a CV. Please email Jeremy Manheim and Alexandria Anstett ( for poster presentations or Alyssa Badgley and Ashley Foster ( for podium presentations. Young forensic scientists may apply to both sessions, and the Committee members will decide which session the abstract is best suited for. All disciplines are welcome!

If you have any questions, contact either the BYOP or BYOS Committee members.

We look forward to reviewing your submissions!
